Monument signs can be made out of several different types of materials. These include wood, stone, brick and exterior-rated foam. The material you choose for your sign depends on your specific needs. Is your office complex in an urban center? Maybe stone would be a nice choice. On the other hand, if you’re located in a more rural zone, brick or imitation wood in the form of high-density urethane (commonly known as HDU) would be more appropriate.

Be aware of the fonts you choose, as well as the size of the lettering. You want your font to match your brand, of course, but if it’s a script font or italicized, it will be harder to read. Choose a size for the lettering that can be read from, say, across the street.
Contrast is also an important factor. Picking a background that has a busy pattern on it, even if it does mesh with your brand, is probably a bad idea. Instead, stick to dark colors on a white background, or vice versa.
